Education & Training
CRC BID's broad educational objective is to strengthen the research and industrial skills within Australia to a degree sufficient to take advantage of anticipated advances in the global field of biomedical imaging. This will be achieved through participation in leading-edge research and in the clinical utilisation of novel techniques and tools.

The CRC plans to assist with the training of graduates with skills relevant to the needs of the Australian medical imaging industry and clinical providers.

Outputs from the education and training program include TAFE and undergraduate science courses, postgraduate research and professional development activities for radiologists and clinicians.

CRC BID will offer scholarships to Ph.D students (and Honours students) to undertake study in the field of radiopharmaceutical and detector research and development. The aim of the scholarships is to produce researchers who are trained to develop and to use biomedical imaging techniques. Post-graduate scholars are invited to apply.

In addition, CRC BID organises seminars and other events on clinical and research issues to allow participants, invited guests and students to share information on biomedical imaging practices and developments.

Participants in the CRC, especially Monash University, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and ANSTO—which in their own right are internationally recognised educational providers—are central to the success of the program.
