GDAQ for detector processing information from 32 channels
The generic data acquisition (GDAQ) system developed by CRCBID for X-ray detectors is being refined further so that it can manage the simultaneous capture of X-ray data from the microchips, across multiple channels. GDAQ is now capable of handling information from 32 independent channels and across multiple GDAQs, allowing the system to be set up in a modular layout. This in turn allows data to be captured from any number of pixels or channels. GDAQ is currently moving towards commercialisation as a complete system, and options are being explored for commercial opportunities in producing other sub systems, such as the microchips and discrete electronic systems that have been developed thus far for X-ray detectors.
