Tracers for melanoma

tracers_melanomaCRCBID is researching tracers that are potentially very useful for clinical management of melanoma.  Skin cancer is the third most common human cancer, with two to three million new cases estimated across the world each year.  Although melanoma accounts for only about 130,000 of these, it is the most dangerous form of skin cancer, and accounts for the majority of deaths.  This image show how effectively the melanoma metastases in the lung and lymph nodes can be imaged, using these new tracers.  Image courtesy Dr Delphine Denoyer, Peter Mac
